We are building a start-up foundation for serving widows holistically: healing mind, body, and spirit, and partnering with other farms and service providers for greater impact and influence.
The mission of Feed My Sheep Outreach is to take of widows in distress, not only in their immediate survival needs, but helping them navigate through grief/trauma into new life, hope, and purpose. We goal is to provide the following services to widows:
- Year supply of local, farm-fresh food for each widow – Grown by not just our farm, but networking with local farmers to either donate a portion of their crop and/or through donations/revenue generation, buy or fund needed produce. Ideally, all farms would be organic or at least regenerative in practice.
- Nutritional guidance and natural medicine health coaching – Diseases like Alzheimer’s and dementia are increasingly prevalent among elderly women, and nutrition is key to preventing them.
- Grief counseling – Helping them process trauma properly and healthily.
- Personal development/life coaching – Helping them find their identity and purpose again.
- Financial advice – How to manage finances the kingdom way, and not just survive, but still live a quality life. I think it would also be great to find lawyers that would help with probate if the lost spouse didn’t have a will/trust.
- Community – Connect widows together, giving them emotional support as well as purpose (helping each other, living kingdom-minded, etc.). This could be through a Facebook group or private community website, and then allowing for in-person events and gatherings.
- Handymen to fix things around their homes, install accessibility ramps and rails, etc. to improve their quality of life.
- Volunteer or hired caretakers to assist with their needs around the home, take them to doctor’s appointments or run errands, etc.
Everything at no expense to the widow. And the ultimate goal is to then:
- Acquire and develop real estate to build tiny home communities for widows that give a higher purpose and sense of unity. One thing that absolutely breaks my heart is aging elders feeling like they are no longer useful or valuable, but instead just a burden on everyone around them and dying because they have no will/reason to live for.
These would have a community garden to build towards self-sufficient communities, facilities for outdoor activities and gatherings (movement and socialization), like a pavilion, picnic tables, walking trails, pickleball courts, etc. And through the coaching programs, inspire desire to create and innovate, producing value instead of just consuming. This could be through whatever they are passionate about: hobbies, skills, and talents like knitting, cooking, etc., or even just sharing wisdom with the younger generation through mentoring.
